Important Update: YSMHL Divisional Realignment for 2025/26 Season
In an effort to reduce travel and accommodate the continued growth of the York Simcoe Minor Hockey League (YSMHL), the league and its member associations have voted in favor of a divisional realignment, effective for the 2025/26 season.

Effective immediately, the YSMHL (U10-U18) will be split into two divisions—North/West and South/East—based on the geographical location of each association.
This realignment is designed to improve scheduling efficiency and minimize travel distances for participating teams.

Please note that division alignments may be adjusted depending on the number of teams entered in each division and to ensure scheduling flexibility. Divisions with 10 or fewer teams will most likely remain unified, while larger divisions will follow the split as outlined below.

Division Alignments

South/East Division

  • Upper York
  • Newmarket
  • Richmond Hill
  • Markham
  • Whitchurch-Stouffville
  • Aurora
  • King

North/West Division

  • Caledon
  • Orangeville
  • TNT
  • Barrie
  • Collingwood
  • Georgian Bay (new)
  • Orillia
  • South Simcoe

Cross-Divisional Play & Scheduling

  • Cross-divisional games will be limited.
  • Teams will not travel to the opposite division more than once per season.
Example: Year 1 – Upper York travels to Collingwood; Year 2 – Collingwood travels to Upper York.
  • A regular season will consist of approximately 26 games.
  • The schedule will not be balanced across all teams.
  • Playoff format is still to be determined but is expected to closely follow the format used in the 2024/25 season.
