U18AA Upper York Admirals Capture YSMHL Championship!
The Upper York Admirals U18AA team has capped off an outstanding season by winning the York Simcoe Minor Hockey League (YSMHL) Championship, earning the league title in dramatic fashion at the Sutton Arena, Thursday March 19th, 2026.

The Admirals faced the Richmond Hill Jaguars in a best‑of‑three championship final, with both teams battling hard for the title. In front of a packed arena, the Admirals sealed the championship with an overtime goal, earning a thrilling 4–3 victory and bringing home the YSMHL Championship banner.

A Season to Remember

Coached by Tyson Bruce and Trevor Sedore, the U18AA Upper York Admirals delivered an exceptional performance throughout the season:

• 1st overall finish in the YSMHL regular season

• 21 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties over 26 games

• Undefeated at home all season

• Playoff record: 8 wins, 1 tie across 9 games

Their consistency, resilience, and teamwork were on full display from opening puck drop to the final buzzer.

On to the OMHAs

With the championship win, the Admirals have officially punched their ticket to the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) Championships, the premier youth hockey tournament that crowns the final champions of the minor hockey season.

The OMHAs will be hosted in Whitby next weekend and will feature:

• Elite competition from across Ontario

• A high‑energy tournament atmosphere

• Live‑streamed games for fans following along at home

Looking Ahead

This season marks a milestone year, as 13 players are aging out of minor hockey. These young men have left their mark on the Admirals program, and we look forward to watching them take the next step in their hockey journeys.

Congratulations to the U18AA Upper York Admirals on an incredible season and a well‑earned championship!

Watch for these players next year as they move on to the Junior Leagues.
